Our eco-design charter is based on the principles defined by the ISO 14006 standard and the six pillars of plant-based eco-extraction, developed in 2010 by 60 researchers and extraction professionals. These references guide us in reducing the environmental impact of our products while ensuring their efficacy and safety.
1
All our raw materials come from French sources that use regenerative agricultural practices.
2
Our processes are environmentally respectful.
3
Our efficacy tests account for different skin tones and hair types.
French Origin: We prioritize plants that are available and acclimatized in France, thus contributing to the preservation of local ecosystems.
Non-food-competitive resources: We use co-products from agriculture and plants grown in new agroforestry or sustainable agriculture supply chains, ensuring that none of our raw materials compete with food production.
Organic Labels: When relevant and necessary, we favor organic-certified raw materials to meet our consumers' expectations for safety and ethics.
Our production methods adhere to the principles of eco-extraction, an environmentally-friendly process that maximizes the use of natural resources while minimizing negative impacts. We follow the definition by France Eco-Extraction and its six principles:
1
Promote innovation
through variety selection and the use of renewable plant resources.
2
Favor alternative solvents
primarily those derived from agro-resources.
3
Reduce energy consumption
by leveraging innovative technologies and prioritizing energy recovery.
4
Encourage the creation of co-products
instead of waste, to move toward bio- or ago-refining.
5
Reduce unit operations
through technological innovation and favor safe, robust, and controlled processes.
6
Prioritize natural product
biodegradable, free from contaminants, and imbued with "eco-extract" values.
While 90% of the cosmetic industry tests focus on Caucasian skin, FDB Green is committed to ensuring that its cosmetic ingredients are suitable for all skin types.
To achieve this, we conduct efficacy tests (in vitro, ex vivo, in vivo) that incorporate a wide range of skin tones, ensuring that our products meet the needs of all populations.
Active Ingredients
Ingredients used in cosmetic formulations for their specific effects (hydration, anti-aging, protection, etc.).
Regenerative Agriculture
An agricultural system aimed at restoring and improving soil health, biodiversity, and ecosystems, while capturing carbon in the soil.
Agroforestry
An agricultural practice that integrates trees into cultivated or grazed plots, promoting biodiversity and improving soil health.
Green Chemistry
A set of scientific practices aimed at reducing or eliminating the use of hazardous substances in chemical processes, minimizing waste, and using renewable resources.
Organic Labels
Certifications guaranteeing that products are derived from organic farming, free from pesticides and GMOs, and respectful of the environment and human health.
Raw Materials
Basic substances used in the manufacture of cosmetic ingredients, primarily sourced from renewable natural resources.
Eco-extraction
A method of extracting plant-based active ingredients using ecological, sustainable, and energy-efficient processes that respect the environment and the raw material.
